  • Founder + Owner

    Crystal is a licensed clinical social worker and certified case manager with over 10 years of experience in mental health care. Crystal earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Fayetteville State University and went on to obtain her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

    Crystal is a proud U.S. Army Veteran. After serving our country, Crystal went on to be an elementary school teacher in Harnett County, N.C. Following her time in early education, Crystal went on to pursue her degree in social work. Upon completion of her degree, she interned at a local day resource center providing comprehensive case management to single women with or without children. She went on to be hired as the center’s first case management coordinator and field placement coordinator where she developed and oversaw the processes for training master’s and bachelor’s level social work interns.

    At the beginning of 2018, Crystal sat for the Commission of Case Management exam to become a Certified Case Manager (CCM). Later that same year, she moved into outpatient therapy at a local counseling center where she provided mental health services to individuals while developing and overseeing the center’s Peer Support Program and Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program.

    Before founding Cypress Counseling, Crystal was invited back to the day resource center as the center’s executive director where she oversaw all agency operations including fundraising, financial management, intern placement and supervision, case management, and donor relations.

    Crystal is skilled in working with adults, couples, and adolescents working through an array of mental health and life circumstances. Her areas of expertise include:

    Crystal is in the process of earning her Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialists (LCAS) certification as well as her Licensed Clinical Social Work- Supervisor (LCSW-S).

  • Individual and Family Therapist

    Monique is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) with 18 years of experience working with families, children, and individuals with criminal histories and pending charges. She graduated from William Patterson University with her Master of Education Counseling Services in 2005 and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). She provides client-centered and trauma-informed therapies and uses mindfulness techniques to enhance work with clients.

    Prior to her work at Cypress Counseling Center, Monique was a clinical therapist with Hoke County Schools, a Day Treatment Case Manager, and worked in both public school and university settings as a teacher and program coordinator. She has an extensive history of working with individuals involved in the justice system and also has experience assisting individuals in foster care.

    Outside of work, you will find Monique traveling and spending time with family. She loves to sing, dance, and laugh and her laughter is contagious.
